We are the Millers

I have this disability that i hate funny movies, I mean i like it if a movie is funny, but i rarely find "funny" movies funny ;D
I resisted watching this movie for so long because i am not interested in its actors and the whole family, funny tone of it. But you always get to the point that you just watch those movies that you don't think you like and i was surprised.
The story of the movie is very stupid, a drug dealer, a stripper, a homeless teenage girl and a stupid kid who get together to smuggle a huge amount of pot into the US Under cover of a happy family.

A series of funny events happen and so on

There is not much to say other than that if you are bored and have nothing else to do, this is a good pick ,and i give 5 out of 10 to this movie.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Why did i wait to watch this movie so long (almost a week)? i was too afraid and excited and Peter Jackson never gets to disappoint me. Everything is perfect about this movie and the fact that i need to wait more than a year to watch the next part is just heart breaking.

I have noticed this transformation or better say expansion of my taste in movies after i realized how much i enjoyed watching hobbits. Because I got so many people saying that oh no, we don't like this kind of movies with imaginary creatures and fighting and unrealistic events and i couldn't agree more, but all the special effects, costumes, scenery , i think make make hobbit much more than a pop corn movie, it is more like a piece of art.

Back to the business i am sure y'all know, this part the dwarfs are still on the journey to get to the mountains and they encounter the elves jungle where they are caught and set in their prisons and so many amazing events happen which i am not going to talk about here.

For sure, this movie is a must see ( make sure you watched the first one and lotr before because there are a lot of references which i needed to check with my friend). and i give 8/10 to it. Enjoy ;D

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Imagine the first hunger games movie and how amazing it was, now multiply it by 5, and this would be your experience of watching the second movie.

I am still amazed after 12 hours , somehow i wish i hadn't watched the movie so that i could watch it one more time for the first time!!!

Catching fire is the second movie of the hunger game trilogy, and after a year, it became more mature, better acts, better special effects a little bit darker, a little bit deeper, just to the right amount.

The storyline is after the last game, people at the districts started fighting against the system more, and now they have hope that something might change.on the other side, people at the capital are scared and they are trying to find a story to keep people busy with. So they decide they are going to have a game this year, with all the winners of the past games. And once again from district 12, Katnis and Peeta are going with the promise that they have to make people believe in their love.

I am not going to spoil the movie here, so I just tell you that the game is much more exciting and scary this time, and the dynamic between the contestants is much more interesting because they have the same mission. The movie is not just another action movie with pretty special effects, the drama is more mature so the movie will have a broader audience this time.

I am jus saying, get up and go watch the movie !!! please ;)

P.S. as an addition to the cast, there is an absolutely charming guy in the movies and ladies, you don't wanna miss that .

Before midnight

Right after i started watching this movie i realized it is the sequel to before sunrise and before sunset, two of the most touching ( not the best) movies i ever watched.

The movie depicts a sad truth about life, which is everything is passing, nothing lasts forever and nothing is eternal. And if you believe in this fact, which is very hard for some people, life would be very easy. It is simply saying don't look at your relationships as promises that are made in another world for you, do not expect too much and do not expect them to be perfect. No two people are meant to be together, nothing is meant to be, things happen and one should learn to enjoy them before they end.

The story happens when the guy and the girl are finally together, living in France with their twin girls, while the guy's son is living in the US with her mom.

It starts with the son leaving France after a summer break and the guy starts having the idea of moving back to the US to be close to his son, while the girl is just starting a new successful career.

For a trip they go to Greece and live with a group of people for a couple of days, meanwhile they go through a very sensitive stage of their relationship when they have to decide what is that make them stay together, If any.

I believe the challenges of a relationship is beautifully shown in this movie, i could connect easily and remember times of my life where i was going through the same questions and doubts. The story is very simple and it just wants to let the audience know that they have to pass through all those details that might or might not matter in one's life and look at what they have right now and how important that is in their lives.

I liked this movie very much though it was not all sweet and feeling good and i give 7 of 10 to it.

Gravity

First a head up to anyone with any kind of motion sickness or claustrophobia, or any other kind of phobia ,
DO NOT watch this movie !!!

Ok, to begin with this is the story : a woman struggles to get back to earth from her spaceship , Done!

To get more into the details :
I didn't go to watch this movie with high expectations, it was obvious from the trailer that it is not gonna be anything special, and it was not. I don't get one week of sold out showtimes , or 987654321 people in the theater on a Sunday night. You can even bare the $$ and don't watch the movie in 3D cause honestly nothing special happens 3D wise.It is a movie about space with NO aliens in it, which made me very disappointed.

The spaceships were well made, and you could get a good amount of information about those missions if you are a beginner like me. There were actually some interesting points that i learned. One is that they seriously need to advance the technology of making spaceships, they easily get caught on fire and are out of use. second, the buttons for controlling the machine are not all in English (WFT, why?) , third, they easily lose their connections with their base on earth. and 4th , when you go that high, you start believing in God, because in all of them you could see a symbol of belief(a picture of Jesus, or a statue of Buddha ).
And the most important thing i learned was that Sandra Bullock is not defeat-able , her oxygen gets to %1 in many occasions, she hits multiple spaceships very hard, she gets lost in the space, her cabin goes on fire and every times she comes back stronger than before !!!

Anyways, I give 4/10 to this movie only because the view of earth from space is very overwhelming and George Clooney was on his best behavior.

The Bling Ring (spoiler alert)

I had this idea that Sophia Coppola is one of my favorite directors and i love all of her movies. Well i definitely loved lost in translation and virgin suicide, but this time i am still lost.
Did she want to make a movie t show obsession with celebrities? Or with getting famous? Or rich? Or she just made a movie just because.
Even if the movie is based on a true story, It could be a short movie, or a commercial, not a whole 1:30 having the audience in suspense that something amazing is going to happen.

The movie is about a group of teenagers obsession over celebrities' lifestyles so bad that they would go to their houses and steal their stuff. And finally all got caught.
Hmm, lets see .. yeah , that was all it.

For me who is personally obsessed with fine clothing, the movie was not that boring, at least i was seeing what i love the most, but for anyone else, it is not recommended. Unless there is a deep meaning in the movie that i yet have not discovered.

I am giving a 4/10 to this movie only because i love Birkins and Loubouis ;D, but see it for yourself cause it got 59% on rotten tomato .

Fill the void (Lemale et ha'halal) , (spoiler alert)

Sometimes i accidentally find random movies that are so amazing that I feel i must have done something very good in my life before.

This movie was one of them that i found in my desperate search of something to watch on a Saturday afternoon. The movie is originally in Hebrew and is totally Jewish (I don't know how else i can say it to be politically correct). During the movie i had some problems realizing how things work and what are the roles of different people , but in general, the culture was somehow close to any other religious communities.

The story is about an 18 year old girl, whose time to get married is approaching when suddenly her pregnant sister passes away and the family decide to make the girl get married to the husband of their deceased daughter . ( I watched a Persian movie with almost the same storyline about 10 years ago, so i suspected maybe that is how they got the idea, but this movie turned out very differently than the Persian one).
At first the girl shows that she accepts the offer only because that is what is proper and everyone expect that from her, ( The husband apparently does not care that much who to marry , I wonder why ? NOT)

But at the end we realize the girl , herself had a forbidden love to her sister's husband, Or that i what i got from the movie ;D

In general , it was a very soft, emotional movie , good acts and i could easily connect to it , though it was in another language.

Something interesting i got from this movie was that though women in Jewish communities are valued based on whether they are married or not and getting married is a huge part of their life which to my surprise happens in less that 24 hour ( parents decide about your husband or wife, you see each other for some hours and then get married) , but the role of women in family is a very strong role , they are respected and they make decisions.

I would recommend watching this movie to any foreign movie lover ;D and give 6.5 from 10 to it.
